Famous Japanese Writer: Kobo Abe

Kobo Abe, also known as Kimifusa Abe, was a Japanese writer, who in Kita, Tokyo born in 1924. Abe grew up in Manchuria, where his father had taught, at a medical faculty. In 1941, Abe went back to Japan and began his studies at Tokyo Imperial Universtiy. In 1948 he graduated with a medical degree, but it is rumored that he was not allowed to practice with.

In 1947, Abe published a series of poems and published his first novel "The Road Sign at the End of the Street," which hewritten in memory of his father and friends who had died in Manchuria. Through this work, his reputation grew as a talented writer who was more avant garde than others of the time. In 1951, Abe won the Akutagawa Prize, a major literary prize in Japan, for his novel "The Crime of Mr. S. Karuma.

What is less known is that Abe Kobo was also a member of the Communist Party. However, at the time were almost all young Japanese writers. Abe fought the leadership of the party andthen later from the party in 1960 erased. Two of his teachers, both anarchist and believed that is the reason why Abe may try to take on the Communist Party to complete.

Until 1962, however, that Kobe Abe was internationally popular with his novel "The Woman in the Dunes". He began with the director Hiroshi Teshigahara in adapting some movies, including "The Woman in the Dunes work."

Abe was often compared to Franz Kafka and Samuel Beckett, because he was tooon the people in today's society. His works often had a surreal feeling, they are also similar to Kafka's works. Abe has been released by very popular throughout the world, "The Woman in the Dunes". Some common themes in the novels of Abe's views are confused or lost identity, isolation and greed.

He began training artists and director started playing after he founded his own acting studio in 1973. He created the music for the pieces with his ownSynthesizer. The rest of his life was largely devoted to writing plays, but he still has a few novels, including "Kangaroo Notebook to write," his last novel before he died in 1993 of a heart attack following a cerebral hemorrhage. "Kangaroo Notebook" is also known as Abe made the first Japanese writer to use a word processing program to write a novel.

The city itself has a Tyohu Abe prior to their exhibition hall for decades. At the exhibition, visitors could see his works, like aPhotographers, the disk on which he wrote: "Kangaroo Notebook", the magazines in which his earlier novels, and much more. Many writers from around the world have been influenced by his surreal works. Abe was a true artist, for he was a writer, director, poet and photographer. His novels have the test of time, Abe is still considered one of the best writers in Japan's standing in history.
